What is the strongest blue cheese there is? Now that I've polished
off a pound of Valdeon for each of the last two months, I need to move
on to something harder. I admit, I'm addicted and powerless to
control my urge for stronger and stronger cheeses.

What's the strongest cheese made from penicillium glaucum, for
example? Is there one Gorgonzola that is known for being stronger
than others?

What's the strongest brevibacterium cheese? Are there any sheep's
milk cheeses made from it?

I must ... get... MORE ... CHEESE!

It's hard to say which blue is the most powerful, but Costco has a great
one under their own lable. It's made by the Amish in Iowa...

I have a pound of that (Kirkland brand) in the fridge right now.
That's regular 'ol American blue cheese - co character. It's not
something I would usually buy, nor will I buy it again.

I didn't know it was Amish but I do wonder how they mass produce
enough cheese to supply Costco.

... very inexpensive labor, I'd guess.

I think the Amish are losing their trademark character. This became
evident to me when they had an Amish infomercial advertising hand made
space heaters.

Basically they're pre-cut cabinets of the "assemble at home" type,
that are shipped to an Amish community who manually nail them together
and stick a heating element in it. Presto - Genuine "Amish" quality
laminated particle board crap.

Of course this was probably the brainchild of some White capitalist
American marketing pig, that the Amish may or may not have known at
the time the true motive of such a deal. It made me wonder how many
Amish lawyers there are and how much they would charge (if anything).
Or would "Amish Lawyer" be an oxymoron of sorts? :-)

If the advertisement were truly Amish, then there wouldn't be any
photograph(s) that depict Amish woodworkers. The Amish shun having
photographs taken of themselves. From what I understand, they do not
mind having photographs taken of their homesteads, but they draw the
line when photographs are taken of their persons.

Sky, who's one county away from a large Amish community

I seem to recall there were pictures of Amish people in the
infomercial hauling space heaters in their horse drawn conveyances.

In any event, it appears the infomercial was picked up by the NYtimes
after being criticized in a bunch of blogs. the company is selling
them at a rate that astounded them, yet they have BBB rating of "F"
meaning "These Guys Suck".

I was wrong about the laminated particle board because I don't
remember the price being that high.

I think it'd be hard to beat a *well-aged* Roquefort.
